Moana's flower crown is used when Moana is a "chief in training." This is when she first learns about the coconuts turning black, and when she learns about the fish leaving the reef. It is worn before the song "How Far I'll Go." The hat is made up of green leaves and pink flowers.
The flower crown is also seen in the scene in which Moana fixes the roof.
She wears it again in the sequel during the ceremony, but the flower crown now has yellow flowers instead of pink flowers.
